Top Ten: Hair Do's

Looking at these photos from the past year you really can see how much I have managed to lighten my hair from black, and the problems I had getting it the same colour from root to tip. Not exactly blond but still lightened. I am going to have a foray with the colour plum again for autumn / winter.

I recently had to cut two inches off my length because of bleach damage, so until next year I am avoiding the bleach. Then bring on operation violet hair again next year!

Nails: Smirnoff Vodka

I actually collect vodka bottles, special snazzy, limited edition ones not your super cheap price ones!

These are your standard Smirnoff ones. Of course I have many others but Toffoc and Blavod etc don't go with this particular post...

Swatch: W7 - Metallic Jupiter

This is a duochrome polish which is very difficult to photograph! It flits between green, navy, purple, a nice almost a petrol on water polish if a little blackened.

Finish: Duochrome
Brush Type: Standard
Opacity: Two coats
How Much: 15ml

Models Own 50% Off Sale: Recommendations and Wants

While I won't be ordering anything from this 50% off sale that doesn't stop me from recommending things and lusting over what I would order if money wasn't an object!

Review: Blusher - Cheeky Pink - This is a lovely blusher for pale skin tones, I prefer it for summer.

Review: WAH - Nail Art Pen -  These pens have since changed their packaging to a more 'handbag friendly' size, the formula is great and the brush and the nib work fantastically. I have the white and the black versions.
Six Way Nail File Buffer - I have this and it is really good, the high shine you can get on your natural nail from buffing makes them look polishes without actually being polished.

Slanted Tweezers - Again these are something I have and they are really good. Even better if you like hot pink!

Moving on to what I would like to get...
(the new Mirror Ball polishes are not in the sale, they are currently all sold out anyway)

52 Week Challenge: Grey

Final week in this year long nail challenge, once again I was going to try and do something clever but being what seems like the only woman in the UK who hasn't read 50 Shades of Grey thought against it.

Base Polish: George @ Asda - Witchcraft
Glitter: Barry M - Jewel Britannia

Review: Lush - Twilight Bath Ballistic

"Let the sun set around you as you let go of the day and drift off to a world of dreams.

If you are struggling to sleep, then this is perfect for using in the evenings. With lavender oil for when you need a bit of extra help to wind down.

We’ve added visuals to this bath to help your mind let go and embrace the night time. Twilight dissolves to create a growing sunset that gradually gets darker until you are finally left with the glimmer of stars"

This is a bath ballistic from Lush, I wasn't actually keen on getting this originally because I thought it was related to the movies Twilight and a whole load of glitter.

I quite liked the pattern on the ballistic, it isn't too clear in my photo but it has stars and moons printed on. I imagine that is what Lush mean when they say adding visuals to help you embrace the night.

Didn't look too glittery from the outside but once it went in the bath it was clear there was going to be a glitter bomb explosion. These again didn't pick up in the photos.

Made the water slightly dusky pink, and the scent was a lavender but not that harsh scent. I used this when I needed to switch off and while it did help I don't think it was down to this particular ballistic.

Nice enough but not something I would repurchase. If you like pink and glitter than I imagine this would be something for you.

Swatch: Color Club - Mrs Robinson

Finish: Neon violet
Opacity: Three coats
How much: 14.5ml
Brush Type: Standard

Mrs Robinson over a white base, really makes it pop! Although the top coat I used has shrunk the polish but not the base which means it doesn't look as good as it should.

Swatch: Orly - Sunglasses at Night

Orly Sunglasses at Night is part of the Flash Glam FX collection. All of the polishes in this collection are really different, designed to be layered over the top of another polish. I think that they are quite similar to a lot of indie polishes which are out there.

Difficult to photograph, which is why I have a video further down. Over ELF Black.

Sunglasses at Night is basically a holographic strand polish in a sheer watery grey base, perfect for layering over black. Was a bit of a pain to work with as any flitter type polish is, that was because the bits of glitter were extending past the end of the nail. Really like Orly polishes as the bottle has a rubberised lid which makes it so easy to open, and to keep it in your hand for perfect application.
