Review: OPI - Avoplex Nail and Cuticle Replenishing Oil

review-OPI-Avoplex-Nail-and-Cuticle-Replenishing-Oil OPI - Avoplex Nail and Cuticle Replenishing Oil

I got a mini avoplex in a set as a gift around Christmas time and hadn't used it before, I have been using it now for around a month.

I like to use a cuticle oil 2 or 3 times a day around my cuticles and underneath the length. I had been using Leighton Denny's Slick Tips. I use a cuticle oil to help my cuticles look moisturised as well as to help my nails to be able to bend, the ideal is strong nails but nails which can bend somewhat without breaking.

Avoplex smells fresh and clean, I'd like to say it smells of cucumber but it doesn't say in the ingredients it has this in.

The texture of this is thicker than slick tips, feels quite silicone like although it doesn't list this as in the ingredients.

It sinks in to the skin quickly and doesn't leave a sticky or oily residue. I also find this doesn't aggravate my eyes if I get it near them, not that I would recommend putting it in your eye but for accident prone people like me it does happen.

Collection 2000 - Electric Dreams // Jacava - Vanilla Slice

The mini 3.75ml bottle comes with a brush applicator which I really like, it gives me more control over where it goes over say a dropper type application. I think the full 15ml bottle also comes with a brush whereas the 30ml bottle is a dropper but that looks more for professional salons.

Avoplex contains vitamin E, avocado, sunflower, sesame and kukui nut oils.

Make Up: Purple All The Things

So I seem to have been having a purple day, eyes, lips and nails were all purple without me thinking about it.

Make Up Collection: Foundation

Foundations

Looking inside my make up storage today. In the first stack of draws, the first two draws contain my foundation collection, I have swatched them all at the end of the post.

Going from left to right:

This first one is a mix of 3/4 Revlon ColorStay Ivory and 1/4 Rimmel 25 Hour Lasting Finish True Ivory 103. The Rimmel is too dark for me and the Revlon is slightly too light. This mix makes for a heavy coverage foundation that lasts.

NYX HD Foundation 02 - This is too dark for me, it is however good for photos as it has no SPF in it.

Rimmel Match Perfection 103 True Ivory - Another foundation which is usually too dark for me. Works better in the summer. Its a medium to full coverage.

ELF Mineral Foundation Porcelain - A mineral foundation which is light enough. Medium, buildable coverage. Not good for dry patches though.
Rimmel Lasting Finish True Ivory 103 - Medium / Full coverage. Wears well and is a foundation you can rely on to stay put. It is however a bit dark for me.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Light Porcelain 010 - Light coverage, I haven't quite made my mind up on this foundation. It is too light for my skin tone but it does oxidise a little bit making it darker.

Maybelline Flawless Nude Ivory - Very light coverage, a thin water like consistency which does still have some coverage. It does cling to dry patches though.

L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint Porcelain - Very similar to Flawless Nude. Again it does cling to dry patches, less than the Maybelline though.

Stamping Plate: Bundle Monster 409 (BM409)

Review-Bundle-Monster-409-BM409

This stamping plate is from the forth Bundle Monster set, the first CYO (create your own). It is backed with branded lining to stop it from being sharp, comes covered with a blue cellophane sticker which you have to peel off before use.

Review-Bundle-Monster-409-BM409

On BM409 there is two full nail images and four smaller ones. I like the plate, it is a bit fun with the Bundle Monster logo and the air balloons. The DNA image, the balloons and the box were tricky to work with as they are such delicate images.

You can see all of the designs I have used the plate in here, and some of those are below:
