Then and Now Throwback Nails: Nautical Theme

I haven't done a then and now throwback nails for a while. It is interesting to look back at how much I have learned and improved upon over the past seven years of nail blogging.

Back in 2011 I did these nautical themed nails, looking at these I am pretty sure I freehanded the stripes as well as the anchors. Also these are that old I can't find the blog post I shared them in because I didn't tag things in a coherent way then!

Base Polish: Models Own - True Blue

Today I used striping tape to create a more straight line, although the top coat dragging is very frustrating! I also stamped both the the anchors rather than freehanding them.

Stamping Plate: Bundle Monster 407 (BM407)

Review-Bundle-Monster-407-BM407

This stamping plate is from the forth Bundle Monster set, the first CYO (create your own). It is backed with branded lining to stop it from being sharp, comes covered with a blue cellophane sticker which you have to peel off before use.

On BM407 there are two full nail images and four smaller ones. I like this plate, the cameo and the dream catcher are favourites. The design with a lot of straight lines on wasn't too easy to work with but I think a lighter hand when scraping would fix that.

You can see all of the designs I have used this plate in here, and some of those are below:
