Nails: Top Five Winter Polishes 2023

As Thursday was Yule, the Winter Solstice signalling the start of the official winter season in the Northern Hemisphere I thought now would be a good time to share my top five winter polishes. I have done similar blog posts in previous years 2022 (here), 2021 (here), 2020 (here), 2019 (here), 2018 (here), 2017 (here) and 2016 (here).

Nails: Top 5 Winter Polishes 2021

As yesterday was Yule, the Winter Solstice signalling the start of the official winter season in the Northern Hemisphere I thought now would be a good time to share my top five winter polishes. I have done similar blog posts in previous years 2020 (here), 2019 (here), 2018 (here), 2017 (here) and 2016 (here).

Gold Rush is a straight up metallic gold polish, very vivid but seasonal.

White Moonstone is new to my collection, a white textured polish with a slight sparkle to it. A white is always good for nail art around this time of year, having texture to it is something a bit different.

Candy Cane is another new to my collection polish, it is a thermal going between light pink and red with red and white glitter pieces. Almost like nail art in a bottle.

Icicle is a silver holographic bar glitter with micro glitter particles in it. For me this might be more New Year appropriate but anytime in December holographic polish would work.

Finally Proserpine, which is a darker green holographic polish. Green is a shade I lean towards in December, as this is holographic is adds something extra to a cream green.

Nails: Grey Stripes and Bar Glitter

Not usually a fan of bar glitter but think it makes these nails look a bit more interesting. Inspired by @margaritasnailz on Instagram.

Nail Polish Battle 2017: Black and Silver

Seeing as it is almost the end of 2017 it is time for my annual nail polish battle. Always interesting to look back over the year at the new polishes I have gotten and seeing which ones are my favourites.

So since last years nail polish battle I have 53 new nail polishes and today I am looking at black and silver ones of which we are starting with 10.

Barry M - Holographic Lights // Barry M - Icicle // A England - The Beggar Maid // A England - Heathcliff // A England - King Cophetua // A England - Incense Burner // A England - Nocturne // Barry M - Black Pistachio // Barry M - Black // Barry M - Black Forest

Firstly I began by selecting my top three;

Barry M - Holographic Lights // A England - Nocturne // Barry M - Black Forest

A England Nocturne is a gorgeous black polish with a holographic scattering in it.

Barry M Black Forest is a really good formula, opaque in almost one coat and a easy to use brush.

The winner of this round however is Holographic Lights, this is a great silver holographic polish. Something new and a bit different for the high street / drug store, and under £5.
