Topic Tuesday: Fave and Least Fave Nail Trends

I may be among the few but I liked the crackle trend as an accent nail, easy to do nail art.

Duck nails aren't something I would like to wear on myself, although they would give more real estate for nail art!

Nails: Matte Holo Crackle

Shatter, crackle nail polish whatever you like to call it it seems to have come and gone in terms of trends. I wanted to use the black again and so I ended up using it over a black holographic polish and I really liked the look. The matte crackle contrasting over the shiny holographic base.

Barry M now have quite a colour selection of these crackle / shatter polishes. I've now swatched this along with the gold, white, pink, and of course black.

Swatch: Barry M - Special Effects Gold

No one seems to talk about crackle nail polishes anymore, things have moved on to the next thing.
This particular crackle is Barry M's Instant Nail Effects in Gold. I personally don't usually opt for gold but over the black I think this could be something wearable over the festive season, especially over New Years time.

Opacity: Really thick which makes for a great crackle which works
over any colour base, really pops with a top coat
Brush Type: Standard
How Much: 10ml
Cost: £3.99

Instructions are now handily printed on the side of the bottle rather than on a cardboard note tied around the top.

Swatch: W7 - Red Crackle

This crackle top coat is nice enough but it isn't very opaque. Only really shows up on lighter colours, which is a shame as I would have loved to wear it over a black.

Swatch: MUA Quake / Crackle Polish

This is the blue one, called Quake;

The purple one is, Broken Arrow;

They don't dry and crackle as quickly as the Barry M Special Effects. However you can see they they do crackle and give that usual shattered effect.
