Nails Inc - New York Noir

From the top ten polishes I chose my top three;

3) OPI - Do You Have This Color In Stock-Holm? - This purple is a gorgeous cream finish polish, it looks vibrant in the bottle but translates to the nails quite a bit darker.

2) Nails Inc - New York Noir - This polish is a one coat black cream finish polish. It is great to wear alone, or as a base. I also found that I could use this to stamp with. Something which I have gotten a lot of use from during 2014.

1) W7 - Twilight - Meaning that Twilight is my favorite nail polish of 2014, I did struggle to choose between this and the black however the black wasn't special enough to win. This is a purple to navy (with a slight lean to pink) glass flecked duochrome polish, which works on it's own or over a dark base. I liked this polish so much I used it to create a 'dragons egg'. It is dark and magical and that is what I really like.

Nail Polish Battle 2014: Glitters!

This is the final battle, before moving on to my top three. I seem to have acquired a fair few glitters this past year.

Angelica - Bobby Dazzler // OPI - Polka.com // Claire's - Dizzy // Jacava - Oxford Street // Leighton Denny - Be Unique // Leighton Denny - Be Individual // Avon - Opal // Barry M - Crystal Glaze

First I whittled these down to three, I like the purple tones to Polka.com and the Avon polish is quite unique. It isn't quite a flakie polish but it is along those lines.

The winner of the three is Claire's Dizzy, because this is quite a unique polish. Multi neon glitters are quite common in the land of indie polish but this is a main stream polish at a bargain price. This is very summer appropriate over white but I think it would work really well over black as well.

Nail Polish Battle 2014: Nude + Other

For some reason  Leighton Denny polishes have been ruling the nude's during 2014!

 Leighton Denny - Créme de la Créme //  Leighton Denny - Opaque Elegance //  Leighton Denny - Supermodel //  Leighton Denny - Just Perfect

And the winner is Opaque Elegance, I really like this polish as a base for something. Great for stamping over, I particularly liked the cameo nails I used this for (here).

Next up we have the two polishes which didn't quite fit in under any other category!

OPI - Alcatraz... Rocks // Primark P.S - Glow in the Dark

The winner is the OPI, while the glow in the dark polish is fun for Halloween it isn't as versitile as the OPI which I really like.

Nail Polish Battle 2014: Duochrome + Holographic

 MUA - Stormy Skies // OPI - Peace, Love and OPI // W7 - Twilight

And the winner is Twilight, this is a stunning duochrome going from navy to purple, it is more of a glass flecked duochrome polish.

Moving on to holographic polishes;

A England - Encore Margot // Moyra - Gravity // Moyra - Aquarius

The winner is A England's Encore Margot, simply because I prefer a silver than a coloured holo. All three of these are great holographics though, just less impressive during the winter.

Nail Polish Battle 2014: Pink + Purple

Not nearly enough purples have came my way this year!

 Leighton Denny - Pillow Talk // Leighton Denny - Crushed Grape // Barry M - Bikini // OPI - Do You Have This Color in Stock-Holm? // W7 - Purple Rain

Firstly I chose my two favourites from this section, both of these are gorgeous cream colours. Bikini is the lighter of the two, and has cute limited edition packaging.

The winner has to be the OPI, a beautiful colour which translates two or three shades lighter on the nail than in the bottle. I prefer darker purples.
