Review: ELF - Eyebrow Kit - Light

It came like this, a little powdery but nothing was broken

They say ~ Create brows that are fuller, thicker, and more defined! The pigmented wax defines and shapes brows and the color complementing setting powder keeps them looking arched and perfected. The doubled sided taklon brush has one side to help arch your brows while the other side aids in filling them in. This duo provides lasting color definition for a naturally beautiful look.

I say ~ Well a photo as they say speaks a thousand words...

Product free brows!

With the gel

Gel and the powder blended out

So while I was totally conflicted originally over which eyebrow kit of the three to opt for I am glad I picked this one in the end and I think its really natural looking which is great. The brush is quite nice to use on the go but I prefer to use another full sized brush.

Review: Lush - Bearded Lady

So you may remeber a while back I got a lot of Lush stuff. This review has taken me ages to get around to doing because I have that much Lush bath products it takes a while to get through them all!

I think this is supposed to be Mrs Clause with a foam beard

And this is the entire thing crumbled in to the bath, you can clearly see all the bubbles!

They say ~  moisturising oat milk to keep skin soft when it's dry in autumn and winter; there are fresh avocados and bananas, and jojoba and almond oils to soften you up when you have your winter baths

I say ~ It does make tons of bubbles and turns the water a dull pink colour. Its not bad really as it is supposed to be a bubble bar but I like more of a scent. It really smell of much and while it says it keeps skin soft I still had to moisturise afterwards. I wouldn't buy it again but its not terrible or anything. More of a 'meh' response!

Nails of the Day - Royal Wedding

Not patriotic in the slightest but thought I would do some nails anyhow! First time trying to use the fauxnad / stamping so its not straight or any good but still!

Swatch: Barry M - Ice Cream

Bought these recently and they apply wonderfully and stay on relatively well. Perfect for spring or if you are me, under a black shatter style polish!

Berry Ice Cream - NP308

Blueberry Ice Cream - 306
(ignore the bad paint job!)

So while this is a swatch post I want to reinforce I like them lots! Both colours while aren't new to Barry M are perfect for this season. I prefer Blueberry Ice Cream to the new Blue Moon colour but am semi lusting after the new Peach Melba. Don't think though it would look good against my skin tone.

£2.99 -  10ml

[fyi - bought these myself :)]

Nails: Blue Leopard

Did you know? Black Leopards are known as Panthers.

That means a couple of coats of a black polish and you can have black leopard nails! Lol! Anyhow enough of my immensely random facts, I really like this blue combination not exactly realistic though!

Review: ELF - Mineral Lipstick - Fiery Fuchsia

They say ~ The sleek lipstick has superior color payoff, glides easily onto lips, and is long wearing. Lips stay perfectly hydrated and soft throughout the day for no fuss, lip loving happiness. All our mineral makeup is 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.

I say ~ Now this lipstick colour really seems to be my natural lip colour but a touch better. Because of this I really find it a nice day to day kind of colour. It doesnt dry, lasts for a good while as well. Totally enjoying and would recommend the mineral line lipstick.

Review: Sleek - Singapore Eyelashes

Another quick review

I got some lashes in the 50% off sale, I need to get OTT lashes because my natural ones are quite long. Nice enough lashes, quite durable actually. Although the glue is terrible, but in my experience all lashes (other than eyelure) have awful glue in with them. Best to get your own one really.

(and yes I forgot to add the eyeliner!)

For £3.49 they aren't a bad price either. Nothing bad to say about them either other than the glue.

£3.49 - Sleek

Eye of the Day - Brown #2

Really rate the ELF Mineral Eyelid Primer, its kept this eye make up on for well over 8 hours! Although by the look of it its made my eyelids magnetic for all of my hair as its all poking in them.

Tutorial: Easter Bunny

While I don't celebrate easter myself I thought it would be a good time to do a little bit of rabbit nail art!

You will need:
- Dark green Nail Art Pen
- Orange Nail Art Pen
- White Nail Art Pen
- Black Nail Art Pen
- ELF Polish in Blush

Paint your nails Blush

Using the white nail art pen make two circles for the head and body, and draw on some ears too

Using the orange nail art pen, make little triangle shapes for the carrot bodies

With the green nail art pen make a V shape at the top of the carrots

And finally with the black nail art pen draw a little bow for the rabbit

And thats that done! I am not too sure about the bow but otherwise the rabbit doesnt look finished. Anyone have any other ideas about what to do to finish off the look without the bow?

Review: Fimo Fruit Canes

So I wanted some fruit shaped fimo slices for some spring / summer. So I ordered 180ps Fimo Fruit Slice Nail Art Decoration from eBay

More flowers

Some cats and bears

Ooh finally some fruit!
swirls / limes / lemons / watermelons

Couple of other fruits too!
? / oranges / watermelon slices / bananas / strawberries

Now anyone know what this is?!

So not overly impressed with my 180 pieces of fruit, but sure I can put most of the slices to use. Just need to get my creative head on now! I paid £1.68 inc P&P which wasnt bad and got them from this eBay seller. Now what are the green things!

Review: ELF - Eyelash and Brow Wand

They say ~ Defines lashes after mascara application or brow contouring to create perfectly coiffed, elegant brows and lashes.

I say ~ Nothing spectacular about this wand but it does its job well for a nice cheap price! I would totally recommend to anyone. I use it on my eyebrows, I seem to have one which is very naughty and miss behaved!

Experience: With Sleek

I am quite sure you are all well aware of the complete and utter farce that happened in November last year with Sleek. They decided to do a 50% off sale, to cut a long story short I spent all day trying to place and order thought it had went through. Had no word about it, was told yes it had gone through then eventually it hadn't, a pain as some of it was for Christmas gifts.

I got a email through at the beginning of April, a massive five months later with a code for 50% off there website. But in the mean time Sleek have hiked up all of there prices, particularly on the eyeshadow palettes. And of course Christmas 2010 had been and gone.

So I placed my order and everything was in stock and went through smoothly. Next day I got my parcel in the post. Was very well packaged with tissue paper, bubble wrap and little boxes.

If I were to judge the company by my second attempt I couldn't criticise at all. Very smooth, quick, well packaged. I got a free mini lip gloss with the order, not sure if they offered that back in November I don't remember.

However then there was the first time which I have to note the really bad customer service. The price increases, five month delay in getting out the new codes.

I'm split at the moment, perhaps they are trying to redeem themselves then again it was awful the first time round not just for myself but for lots of people.

What do you think about the who farce? Did you make an order originally?

Swatch: George @Asda Nail Varnish - Buttercup Shine

First polish from George @Asda but for a pound I thought why not! Yes it is a really bright in your face yellow which I wouldnt wear alone. I got it for nail art, for a base colour or for mixing as yellow is a primary colour. I couldn't leave it like this though, way too bright for me!

Anyhow on to the polish, this is Buttercup Shine (16) and in the above pictures I had painted on three coats in order to get a totally opaque covering without streaks. I dont really like polishes which need that many coats. The brush is a little larger than in a standard sized polish which was interesting because with it being a smaller polish (8ml) I would have imagined a smaller brush, so that was a good surprise. As for its claims of being quick dry, they didnt say how long was quick. I found though drying time wasnt bad but neither was is super quick.

Over all I think I would buy George polishes again, as for this colour well I think it will last a long time anyhow!

Storage: Eyelashes

I have no idea no why I thought it would be a good idea to call this series 'storage' but suppose have to stick with it now!

ELF - Hollywood Eyelash Kit
ELF - Dramatic Lashes
Eylure - Tokyo Purple Lashes
Sleek - Singapore Lashes
ELF - Natural Lashes
ELF - Diamond Lashes
Primark - Snow Angel Lashes

I have finally came to the conclusion that my natural eyelashes are long, in some cases longer than the natural false ones. Which means there isn't much point in me getting natural looking ones, which means I get to try out lots of different adventurous ones. For example the Eylure ones or the Diamond ones from ELF. Might have to try getting some feather ones next!

What kind of false lashes do you like?

Experience: With Graze

Not typically something I would blog about but its still something that interests me. So about a month ago Sami mentioned Graze which is a company that send out little boxes once a week (or whenever you like) of healthy snacks. Anyhow its about £3.50 for a box but if you use a promotional code you get one free box to try and one half price box. Gives you the chance to see if its worth while.

I made sure I got boxes without stuff in I am allergic to and things I can't bare to eat and that was easy to do, everything is vegetarian and there is a option to select if you are vegan or allergic to nuts. I always got the boxes the day they were due. The boxes and the punnets are recyclable as well which is good. Not sure about the cellophane though.

Fits through your letter box and comes in a box which looks like this

This is what it looks like inside, I like how in different boxes have different art work on the top

And these are a few of the different things I was sent

Some things were nice others not so nice. I'd recommend trying this out to anyone really, just cancel after the first box and that's free. If you like you can carry on or not, either way its easy to do.

my code for the free box is W6JXVM4 if you want to use that

[I'm not paid and don't have anything to do with graze, just liked the product]
