Review: ELF - Mineral Infused Face Primer

Now this review is completely overdue! Like well over a year and a half! It is the reason why I originally got in to ELF make up as I was on the look out for a product like the Urban Decay Primer Potion but for the face. I didnt know much about the world of make up back then either! Basically I was after a cheaper version on Smashbox Primer. After reading lots of reviews I thought I would go for this mineral infused face primer by ELF.

They say ~ Transform your face into a flawless and smooth canvas with the mineral Infused Face Primer. Developed to combat excess oil, flaky dryness, enlarged pores and fine lines to result in a natural and youthful looking radiance. This clear multipurpose skin primer will prepare your skin so makeup goes on evenly for a lasting finish.

I say ~ Well basically its this gel like substance that you rub all over the face and leave for about a minute and then you get to move on to applying the foundation. I find it feels a little bit oily but it has a mattifying effect on the skin and makes the pores look a bit smaller.

What I like about it ~ Stops foundation settling in the pores on my nose, stops the foundation from clinging to any little dry patches and helps my foundation stay put all day and keeps my face matte. You barely need any and so it lasts a while.

What I dont like about it ~ The pump is a bit of a pain, because its a gel it seems to cling to the sides of the bottle rather than going up the tube in the middle. But a tip is banging the bottom of it off your desk or something to make the gel go to the bottom. Plus you can open it up and use a concealer brush to get the last of the product out. Definitely hope that they change the packaging to a squeezy tube in the future.
