Review: Maybelline - Volum'Express Mascara

I received a packet through the post the other day which threw me as I wasn't expecting one. Anyhow it turned out I had won a competition I entered months ago. It was something to do with voting in a Sunday newspaper for beauty products.

Anyway it really brought a smile to my face as its not often I win anything

So as you can see its the Maybelline Volum'Express Mascara which at first look has a massively thick tube! Also I like how you can actually see the brush your getting with the mascara.

According to the back of the packet it is all down to the brush how it works so well

Which as you can see is a rubberised wand.

I have been using this for a few days now and I have to say I really like the effect it gives. No clumping or smudging. Makes my lashes look a lot more voluminous, although not longer but that isn't a claim it makes.

I don't like the size of the wand its quite long and chunky which makes it difficult to catch those little small lashes. The formula of the mascara doesn't dry too quickly which means you can truly separate the lashes but on the other hand you have to be careful not to blink (or sneeze) otherwise it will transfer. Also after 10 hours of wear I have noticed flaking which isn't an attractive look.

(I won this in a competition, but that doesn't effect my review)
