I thought I would share how I remove my nail polish as apparently I do it 'weirdly'. I didn't think I did but that's what a friend said when watching me.
At the moment I am using a acetone free polish remover from Sally's, and cotton wool balls from boots but this method works with any cotton and any remover. It won't work too easily with glitter polish but I will do a tutorial on that some other time.
For all ten fingers I use two cotton balls
Get one cotton wool ball and tear it in to five pieces
Soak each piece in the remover
Put the cotton wool over the nail and wait for a minute, while the remover chemicals get to work
Then push down and swipe off, generally all of the polish comes off in one swipe. None of that scrubbing!
And that's it done. Do you remove your polish the same way or am I doing it a different way to the norm?

You are not weird, I do the EXACT same thing.... its quick, limits the amount of scrubbing remover into my cuticles and keeps cotton wool use to a minimum.
ReplyDeleteThanks for replying, I thought I was on my own doing it this way! :)
DeleteI'd call that a pretty normal way of removing polish. Its the same technique that I use, except when I just glitters, then I use a full cotton ball and foil method. Nice post :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for replying, I do the same for glitters but leave it a fair bit longer. Or use a PVA glue base ;)
Deletenot weird! That's how i do it too, i only need one cotton ball though and glitter comes off pretty easily this way even without acetone for me, thought i've been using pure acetone lately, and it works even better with this method.
ReplyDeleteI used to use just one for all 10 fingers but found I ended up dripping remover everywhere. Perhaps I need bigger balls :P
DeleteNot weird! I actually unroll my cotton balls and can do all 10 nails with one average size cotton ball.
ReplyDeleteThank you for replying, I think I will have to get my friend to look at this page and everyone's comments. Perhaps she is the weird one lol!
Deleteoh i have to be honest ive never seen someone do it this way but i need to try!
ReplyDelete<3
Well if you do let me know how you get on with it :)
DeleteI've read a lot about this way for removing glitter polishes but not so much for regular polishes.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm weird but I can remove (regular) polish from all fingers/thumbs with just one cotton wool pad (not cut/torn up) and minimal scrubbing ;)
