Beauty and the Beach 2 - Perfect Holiday Hair, Make Up and Nails

This year TravelSupermarket are doing another 'perfect holiday' competition and this year I have decided to enter. The three themes are make up, hair and of course nails. I haven't been on holiday in a very long time but there is nothing wrong with a bit of day dreaming!

Summer sunset nails, with some palm trees, dolphins and a parrot all images scream summer at me and my favorite design has to be my thumb.

I started by painting my nails ELF Yellow, then sponged on ELF Party Peach and ELF Black to get the gradient, I did a tutorial on how to do this here if you are interested. Then I went on to stamp the designs using W7 Black and the following stamping plates; Bundle Monster BM315 and BM310, B22 and M71.

Make Up
For the make up I used a lot of shimmer which is quite summary and fun. I used:
Urban Decay: Eyeshadow Primer Potion
Sleek Original Palette: Shade 9 over the front of the lid and shade 10 over the middle
Sleek Bad Girl Palette: Underground in the crease, Innocence as a highlight
MUA Single Eyeshadow: Shade 19 (Brown) as eyebrow powder
ELF 3 in 1 Mascara
Eyelash Curlers
Maybelline Lasting Gel Liner in black on the waterline

And with having quite a lot going on with my eyes I played down the lips using ELF's Mineral lipstick in Fiery Fuchsia. This is a sheer application but it is build-able in to something more opaque.

So I thought that for a day at the beach you would want something tied back a little and so I went for a ponytail twist. Of course you could easily let down the pony tail and just have long waves for a evening. I plaited my semi wet hair before bed and when I woke up and undid them they always come out with a nice wave. You can get a tighter wave by doing two or more plaits, for this I did one. I used a little bit of serum just to tame any frizz and define the waves a little.

All this talk of holidays has me longing to be at the beach!
