"Mattifying moisturiser to control the shine of oily skins. A skin multitasker, this reduces T-zone shine within one hour of application and maintains a matt finish to the skin for up to 8 hours. Shea Butter helps promote skin cell renewal, hydrates and protects all day long, whilst reducing redness, inflammation and helps minimise post blemish imperfections" - TimeToSpa
I actually won this moisturiser in a competition, this doesn't affect my views on the product.
So the Elemis FreshSkin range is aimed at teens to early twenties, I may be in my late twenties but I still look for a mattifying moisturiser to use when I am not wearing make up or to use under make up. You do not want a greasy moisturiser to use under make up.
The moisturiser is quite thin however does provide adequate moisture to the face.
It does have quite a lemon fresh scent to it which is very slightly irritating to the eyes.
It claims to be a mattifying moisturiser however this is not the case, I would describe it as semi-matte. This works well under foundation and make up, if I use it and don't go on to wear make up it leaves my face looking slightly shiny. Certainly not the matte finish which I have come to expect from Asda's Matte Moisturiser (although this can be slightly drying).
Overall it is quite a nice moisturiser, although it isn't matte as it claims to be. I do like the pump action dispenser, however the packaging isn't clear and so there is no way of knowing when you are running low on the product.
The RRP is around £21 which for me personally is too expensive especially seeing as it does not live up to the matte claims. I will continue to use this moisturiser but it certainly isn't something I will be rushing out to replace.
