Nail Polish Battle 2014: Reds

Looking at the new red polishes of 2014

Nails Inc - Optic Flame // Barry M - Crush // Sally Hansen - Potent Port // Jacava - Red Velvet // Leighton Denny - Vamp

Barry M's Crush is a really nice colour but I find it chips so quickly on me. Also Vamp is a gorgeous colour but it leans very dark which while I do like, it isn't red enough to win the red category! So the winner is Red Velvet, a tone or two lighter than Vamp and very clearly a deep red.

Nail Polish Battle 2014: Blue + Green

Today we have the blue and green polishes;

Nails Inc - Optic Wave // Essence - Miss Universe // Essence - It's Raining Men // Avon - Blue Royale

The winner of this round is another Nails Inc freebie! Optic Wave. This one is a nice tiffany blue cream colour, during 2014 I was on a hunt for a cheap tiffany blue and I found one in this.

Nail Polish Battle 2014: Black + Silver

Every year I do a battle of the nail polish, this year I have changed it up to using only new polishes for 2014. That way I can go through the polishes much easier. On to today's battle, looking at black and silver polishes;

 Pretty - Leather Look // Essence - Black is Black // Leighton Denny - Steel Appeal // Barry M - Espresso // Nails Inc - New York Noir

While I really liked the brush on the Essence polish the one coat opacity of the Nails Inc makes it the winner. Which is a shame because it was free with a magazine!

Moving on to the silvers, I didn't get many this year!

CK - Silver Streak // Barry M - Silver Foil Effect

The winner is the Barry M, because it is much less streaky and as an added bonus it is great for stamping with.
