TAG: The Long Hair Tag

1. Why did you start taking better care of your hair?
I'm not sure I ever did, once it got past chin length it didn't need to much time, product, or heat to make it work for me. I'm very much a brush and go person

2. What are your 2 favourite products?
Tangle Teezer and Aussie 3 Minute Miracle

3. Who's hair did you admire as a child?
People who had hair which was an actual colour rather than a mousey non-colour, as for length I liked Alanis Morissette and Angelina Jolie.

4. What is your ultimate goal length?
Tail bone length, on me that is 38 inches. Currently at hip length 36 inches

5. How are you going to celebrate when you reach it?
Take a photo? Smile?

6. Two styles you want to try at your goal length?
Just long and straight, I don't have any particular styles in mind, maybe I could try a halo braid again but my hair is long enough to do that at the moment

7. Which do you prefer: Health or length?
Combination of both,

8. Which do you prefer: Hair ties with no metal parts, or butterfly clips?
Hair bobbles with no metal parts

9. What products do you prefer: salon brands, organic brands, BSS brands or drugstore brands?
High street (drugstore)

10. Which product/technique do you think is over-rated?
Taking pills dedicated to specifically hair growth. Multi vitamins are fine but the ones marketed at something so specific as hair growth I'm not sure about

11. Which product/technique do you think is under-rated?
No heat hair styles

12. What is your favourite part of your hair regimen?
The feeling when you have brushed all knots out and the brush just goes straight through your hair from root to tip, success!

13. What is the most annoying part of your hair regimen?
Natural drying time

14. Oils or butters?

15. Bun or ponytail?

16. Wig or weave (or neither)?
Neither, but I do have a couple of wigs to play about with

17. What is your opinion on growth aids?
I think how you eat / drink and your genes have a lot to do with 'magic pills'

18. What length do you consider long?
Past bra strap length

19. When is the last time you've been to a salon?
17th October 2007, although I do cut it myself a lot.

20. What do you like to surf the most: youtube channels, personal blogs or hair forums?
On YouTube I like TorrinPaige and Loepsie. Both previously mentioned on my blog back in 2012 (here). When I had a pixie hair cut I wanted hair as long as TorrinPaige but I have come to realise I am a lot shorter than her so her hair length while mine goes to the same place on my body as hers, hers is a lot longer. I used to like the LHC forum a lot as well.

21. And finally, what piece of advice would you give to someone just starting out their hair journey?
Keep going, don't give up. Stay away from heat.

Stamping Plate: Bundle Monster 321 (BM321)

This stamping plate is from the third Bundle Monster set, from 2012. It is backed with branded lining to stop it from being sharp. This is useful, without it it is easy to slice open your fingers and palms which I have been known to do accidentally in the past with other stamping plates.

Four of these are full nail images and two are single images. All stamped well, I like the ribbon image, it is great for awareness nail art designs. You can see all of the designs I have used this plate in here, and some of those are below.

Review: The Body Shop - Almond Conditioning Hand Wash

Review-The-Body-Shop-Almond-Conditioning-Hand-WashI hadn't tried any of the hand washes from The Body Shop before this one, I actually was working my way through the chocolate orange one from Carex (which smells exactly like Terry's chocolate orange).

The packaging of this works well, it is a plastic bottle with a pump. One pump of the hand wash is enough to wash my hands with, and does leave them feeling clean.

It is creamy and leaves my hands feeling nice, not dried out the way other hand washes can do if you happen to wash your hands too many times. In the same vein I didn't find it left any sort of sticky or oily residue on my hands either.

The scent of this is to me of marzipan, or almonds however you look at it. It reminded me of Smitten hand lotion I used to really like from Lush before it was discontinued. Another Lush product, Snow Cake soap smells quite similar, along with the limited edition perfume.

Overall this is a nice hand wash for those who like almond / marzipan scents as well as wanting a more moisturising hand wash. It is a bit expensive for hand wash at £5 for 250ml however The Body Shop often have 50% off deals.
