Stamping Plate: Born Pretty Store - BP02 Lace

Born-Pretty-Store-bornprettystore-BPS-Stamping-Plate-02-BPS02-Lace-stamped-Nails

Last year Born Pretty Store came out with there own stamping plates, as soon as I saw this lace design one I knew I had to get it.

The plate itself is backed with paper, so no sharp edges. It has three full nail images and eight single images. The full nail images are quite small, you could get away with the large tree and the scene images but if you have longer nails then then snowflake plate would be tricky to work with.

The images stamped really easily, I really like the lace designs and they are quite versatile as you can use all different colour ways.

I have used the stamping plate a couple of times and you can click here for all the nail art using the plate.

Review: Born Pretty Store - Round Polka Dot Studs 2mm*

Review-Born-Pretty-Store-BornPrettyStore-BPS-Round-Polka-Dot-Nail-Studs-Fashion Dots Pattern-Decoration

In this pack there are 30 2mm round polka dot studs, there are other shape (square, triangle) and sized  (2mm, 3.5mm) ones on the website as well.

I like the idea of these because the design is too small to do by hand on to a stud. For all of the nails I used monochrome polishes as I thought it went with the colours of the studs.

The first way I used these studs was as a simple cuticle accent.

The second way I used them in a polka dot design as an accent nail.

And finally I used it along with some chevron tape to create a monochrome accent.

Review: Born Pretty Store - Chevron Stripe Tape*

Review-BPS-BornPrettyStore-born-pretty-store-Chevron-Nail-Striping-Colorful-Nail-Art-Tape-Line-Stickers-Lines

This is a roll of chevron striping tape, the roll of tape can be used as a stencil and be painted over or can be used as it is. It comes in six different colours, silver, white, black, gold, blue and red.
The tape itself is very thin which means it sits on the nails well without sticking out. You can use them in both ways which I have or you could peel away the chevron shape and be left with the side parts to create your own chevron colours.

For these nails I used the tape as a stencil. Painting my nails with a base polish waiting until it was dry and then using the tape over top.

Then after painting over with black polish I immediately removed the tape.

Finally I cleaned up the edges of the nails.

For the next nails I used the tape as it is for an accent nail, sticking the tape down to the nail and then removing the sides of the tape.

Leaving behind an accent nail which I went on to top coat, to seal in the design.

The final design I created using the tape was a half and half design. I used the tape across the centre of the nail and then painted one shimmer polish below and another above before removing the tape to create the following design.

Review: Born Pretty Store - Nail Art Palette*

review-bornprettystore-born-pretty-store-nail-art-palette

This nail art palette is a small palette designed to be worn on a finger or thumb to use in nail art. It is made from metal which means you can clean it up with both water for acrylic paint and acetone for nail polish.

Here I used this to make a reverse stamping decal, I dotted some nail polish on the palette and then used that to paint on to the stamper.

review-bornprettystore-born-pretty-store-nail-art-palette

I really like the palette because nail polish dries really quickly and so having the dot of polish nearer the nail was a lot more convenient than somewhere else.

review-bornprettystore-born-pretty-store-nail-art-palette

The palette has an expandable ring back which means it fits on both fingers and thumbs.

Overall this is a great addition to any nail artists kit. Reusable and convenient.

Helps with nail art by being so much nearer to the nail itself, as well as putting an end to the use of random bits of paper / cardboard / plastic as a temporary palette.

The plastic cup I have been using for a small amount of water to clean off the brush or make a polish sheerer when using acrylic paint.

Review: Born Pretty Store - Clear Jelly Stamper*

Review-Born-Pretty-Store-BornPrettyStore-BPS-Clear-Jelly-Nail-Art-Stamper-Clear-Silicone-Marshmallow

Since beginning stamping in 2010 there has been a lot of changes to stampers. The clear jelly stamper is the next new thing.

The idea of this stamper is that the stamping head is clear which helps with the placement of the stamped designs.

Review-Born-Pretty-Store-BornPrettyStore-BPS-Clear-Jelly-Nail-Art-Stamper-Clear-Silicone-Marshmallow Review-Born-Pretty-Store-BornPrettyStore-BPS-Clear-Jelly-Nail-Art-Stamper-Clear-Silicone-Marshmallow

The Born Pretty Store clear jelly stamper has a hole at the top of the stamper so you can see down to the jelly head and therefore through the head and on to the nail itself.

Review-Born-Pretty-Store-BornPrettyStore-BPS-Clear-Jelly-Nail-Art-Stamper-Clear-Silicone-Marshmallow

Stamping head is jelly like in firmness, it isn't as squishy as a marshmallow type one but certainly not as hard as a traditional Konad one. My nails are curved and long which means I need a squishy head to transfer the image across, while this isn't as soft as a marshmallow head it is soft enough to use on my nails without damaging them.

I didn't need to prime the stamper before using it, prior to using all I did was use a sticky lint roll to remove the fluff which had stuck to the head.

Being able to see exactly where you are placing your stamped image is a great development in the world of stamping. I know I will get a lot more use from my stamping plates because of this stamper. Being able to get the placement right is so much better than stamping and hoping it is right.

Here is a couple of nail art designs I did using this stamping plate:

Barry M - Rose Hip

Barry M - Rose Hip / Avon - Cherry Dazzler Stardust

Essie - Shall We Chalet

Overall I really like this stamper and would recommend it, it really helps with stamping placement and means I get a lot more use from the stamping plates which I already own.
