Nail Polish Battle 2016: Black Polishes

For the past four years I have done nail polish battles, the idea is all of the new nail polishes I have gathered throughout the year battle against each other to see which is the best polish of the year. During 2016 I have 76 new polishes to battle with.

Firstly are the black nail polishes:

Barry M - Black Cherry // Barry M - Blackcurrant // Barry M - Black Grape // Kiko - Black // Essie - Licorice

While I do like all of these polishes, I have to opt between Kiko Black and Essie Licorice as they are both creme black polishes rather than another colour heavily blackened.

This was a hard battle but I chose Licorice because the brush is slightly better than the Kiko version, it is flat with a rounded cuticle. However both of them are one coaters.

Stamping Plate: Born Pretty Store - BPL-032 (Christmas Plate) # 23268*

Review-Born-Pretty-Store-BPL-032-Christmas-Stamping-Plate

This is a large stamping plate measuring 125mm by 65mm. It comes backed with a hard plastic and with a festive cardboard sleeve.

On the plate itself it has 5 full nail images, 12 single images and a giant snowflake design that can be used on very long nails. As you can see all of the images stamped across really well which is great.

I have currently got quite long nails and something which can be frustrating about this is stamping plates have supposedly full nail images but these won't fit on my nails. This plate the full size images are big enough to fit on my nails.

Here are some nail art designs I have done using this stamping plate:

Nails: Top 5 Winter Polishes 2016

Now that December is upon us I thought I would share this years top 5 winter / festive nail polishes with you all. Expect lots of sparkle!

 Nails Inc - Silver Road Snowglobe // OPI - Let Your Love Shine // A England - Encore Margot // Kiko - Violet Microglitter 255 // A England - Natasha's Dance

First is OPI's Let Your Love Shine, it is a gorgeous deep red with red glass flecks running though it.

Next is A England and Encore Margot, a silver holographic which is sparkly and quite holographic when in the rare winter sun!

What would a top 5 nail polish picks be without a purple. This one is Kiko Purple Microglitter, a dark purple base with multi coloured micro glitter.

In dark light this looks almost black, with any light shining on it though it comes alive with a beautiful holographic shine

And finally we have a silver glitter in a clear base, which can be used as a cuticle accent gradient or as a wash of sparkle over the entire nail. You have to have some kind of actual full on glitter at this time of year I think!
