Topic Tuesday: Which Only 10 Polishes Would You Keep?

Choosing only ten polishes from my collection was hard but below are the ones I chose today;

Revlon Facets of Fuchsia - Purple hex glitter.
Fancy Gloss Magma - Autumn in a topper bottle.
Barry M Cotton - Good basic white for nail art.
Orly Synthetic Symphony - Very vivid purple, unique to my collection.
Essie Angora Cardi - Dusty, cozy, warm pink.
OPI Less is Norse - Dusty, mid toned blue.
Barry M Dark Side of the Shroom - Clearly a deep aubergine.
ILNP Eclipse - Very shifty red to black multichrome.
A England In Robe and Crown - Dark purple which is also holographic.
Orly Liquid Vinyl - Good basic black for nails.

Topic Tuesday: Polishes that didn't live up to the hype

One of my polishes is ILNP Eclipse which was one of the hyped polishes towards the end of 2020. It is a very shifty duochrome polish, I actually like the polish and is one I do re-wear however the hype over the new red / black shifting pigment was huge and therefore very difficult to live up to the 'jaw dropping' claim.

Nail Polish Battle: Polish of the Decade (2011 - 2021)

Since 2011 I have gone through my collection and picked out my favourite polish of each year, this post is looking back at the past winners and working out my polish of the decade. I still have all but one of the polishes, Models Own Gun Grey which I used up so excuse the dodgy photo editing!

I looked over my polishes and chose these as the top three;

First of the three to be eliminated is Facets of Fuchsia, only because it is a glitter and I don't like removing those.

In second place is Goth, while I do really like this polish it is very dark and in standard lighting it tends to look black. Whereas in direct light you can tell it is both holographic and deep, deep purple.

Which means the winner of this is In Robe and Crown! This polish is similar to Goth but in all lighting you can tell it is supposed to be a dark purple, when in direct sunlight it has a beautiful holographic flair to it.

Nails: Top 5 Autumn / Fall Polishes 2021

As autumn arrives today I thought I would share my top five autumn / fall nail polishes.
I have done similar posts in 2020201920182017201620152014, and 2013.

A England - Gloriana // Aj Nails - Venus // Barry M - Matcha // Barry M - Espresso // ILNP - Eclipse

A England Gloriana is a metallic rust orange shade which reminds me of autumnal leaves.

Aj Nails Venus a polish which is new to my collection but it is a duochrome polish shifting between bronze and gold with a slight green shift.

Barry M Matcha is a army green cream polish which is nice for autumnal skittle nails.

Barry M Espresso, another new to my collection polish. Espresso is a dark brown cream polish, you can tell it is a brown and not black on the nails which is nice.

ILNP Eclipse, one of the first red to black shifting polishes from late 2020. Dark and shifty, something which is distracting watching the shifts on the nails.

Nail Polish Battle 2020: Winner!

Finally I am reaching the end of the 2020 battle!

The last round we ended up with the top three polishes, Jinx, Magma and Eclipse;

For me the first polish to eliminate was Jinx, it is a stunning polish, strong holographic silver.

Choosing between the top two polishes was very difficult! In the end coming in at number two was Magma, I like all of the different autumnal colours the flakies show. Only came second because it is a topper rather than a polish you can wear as is.

Which means that the winner of 2020 nail polish battle is ILNP Eclipse. I think it was the first of a kind with its multichrome deep red pigment. It is incredibly distracting when wearing it as it changes colours in different lights, and different finger positions. 2020 was a year that called for distraction and that is why Eclipse won.
