Nail Polish Battle: Polish of the Decade (2011 - 2021)

Since 2011 I have gone through my collection and picked out my favourite polish of each year, this post is looking back at the past winners and working out my polish of the decade. I still have all but one of the polishes, Models Own Gun Grey which I used up so excuse the dodgy photo editing!

I looked over my polishes and chose these as the top three;

First of the three to be eliminated is Facets of Fuchsia, only because it is a glitter and I don't like removing those.

In second place is Goth, while I do really like this polish it is very dark and in standard lighting it tends to look black. Whereas in direct light you can tell it is both holographic and deep, deep purple.

Which means the winner of this is In Robe and Crown! This polish is similar to Goth but in all lighting you can tell it is supposed to be a dark purple, when in direct sunlight it has a beautiful holographic flair to it.

Nail Polish Battle 2018: Winner!

So the top three were A England's Briarwood, Danglefoot Polish Oh Plesiosaur and A England Moth A Fairy.

A England - Moth A Fairy was the first polish to be eliminated, because it was the lightest of the three and I do prefer darker polishes.

The next two were very difficult to chose between. I do love both of the polishes, but I chose Danglefoot Oh Plesiosaur for second place because of what I have been wearing the most recently.

Which of course means A England - Briarwood is the winner of my nail polish battle 2018. I chose this one because it really has been one I have been wearing a lot of recently. I even wore it as is which is rare for me. It's the perfect autumnal holographic polish.

Nail Polish Battle 2018: Top Three

After eight different polish battles today I have my top three from the top eight.

Barry M - Cream Soda // A England - Peaseblossom Fairy // A England - Anne Boleyn // A England - Briarwood // A England - Moth A Fairy // Danglefoot Polish - Oh Plesiosaur // Born Pretty Store - Taj Mahal // Nails Inc - Rainbow Hooves

Choosing the top three was difficult as I do like all of them. I do seem to have a holographic theme to my top three polishes this year!

I chose A England - Briarwood because it is a beautiful autumnal holographic polish which I have been wearing a lot recently.

Danglefoot Polish - Oh Plesiosaur is a charcoal polish which is super holographic in finish.

A England - Moth A Fairy is another holographic polish. This one is lighter though, very much a grey holographic polish.

Nails: Top 5 Winter Polishes 2018

Seeing as the winter equinox is rapidly approaching on Friday I thought I would share my top five winter polishes for 2018, I have done a similar post in 2017 (here) and 2016 (here).

OPI Desperately - Seeking Sequins // A England - Briarwood // Leighton Denny - Be My Berry // Essie - Mind Your Mittens // OPI - Ornament to be Together

OPI Desperately Seeking Sequins - Below is worn over a copper polish, but during the winter season I would wear this over a black polish or even over a silver to add a bit of glitter. Tis the season for glitter after all!

A England Briarwood - Spoiler alert for my nail polish battle for 2018, Briarwood comes in the top three. I am wearing this polish quite a lot, it is dark but you can still tell it isn't a black. It is also holographic which makes it something you could wear as is rather than using it as a plain base for nail art.

Leighton Denny Be My Berry - Would it be a winter top five blog post without a red? I have over 40 red polishes and this one stands out. It is a red which leans slightly dark with a red shimmer throughout it. Great for the festive season.

Essie Mind Your Mittens - This is a beautifully deep green polish, this year I have already used it in nail art. Deep forest green, nice for pine trees! If you don't usually wear a darker polish then this is the time of year to try it out.

OPI Ornament to be Together - While I have already had a silver polish in my top five that one was a glitter in a clear base. This one isn't a glitter, this is a shimmer polish which does have some very fine holographic pieces. This with the glitter polish would make for easy New Year's Eve nails.

Nail Polish Battle 2018: Yellow, Gold, Beige

Seeing it is almost the end of 2018 it is time for my annual nail polish battle. I find it interesting to look back over the year at the new polishes I have gotten and seeing which ones are my favourites.

So since last years nail polish battle I have 63 new nail polishes which is 10 more than last year.. Oops! Today I am looking at yellow, gold and beige ones.

China Glaze - Werk It Honey! // OPI - Gift of Gold Never Gets Old // ELF - Glamour Girl // Barry M - Sunburst // Barry M - Ginger // A England - Briarwood

The first thing was to work out my top three;

China Glaze - Werk It Honey is a almost opaque in one coat, not something I would wear as is but something I have gotten quite a lot of wear from in the form of nail art this year.

Barry M - Sunburst, is a peach holographic polish. Originally when I saw this release I decided I didn't need it, however once I had seen it in store I changed my mind because it would be unique to my collection.

And the winner is, A England - Briarwood! I chose this as the winner as it is darker than the others, something I have been wearing recently and it is a beautiful autumnal holographic polish.
