Nails: Top 5 Summer Polishes 2026

Summer Solstice was yesterday and so I'm sharing my top summer polishes for 2026. These are the polishes from my collection I will be reaching for more often.

If you are interested you can see my summer picks for 2025 here2024 here, 2023 here, 2022 here, 2021 here, 2020 here, 2019 here, 2018 here, 2017 here, 2015 here and 2014 here.

Baker Street is a bright cobalt blue cream, last year it was one of the polishes I wanted to finish and I think there is only one or two sets of nails worth left in the bottle so want to use it this summer.

Selenite is a blue, flakie, topper polish. I've already worn it over a blue and want to wear it again soon.

Little Mermaid is a UV reactive polish going from green to purple, however the bottle I have no longer reacts. I do want to use it though because I like the sea foam green, flakie colour it now is.

The Scent of Azaleas is a mid purple holographic, which I like wearing in direct sunlight.

Oh, Plesiosaur is a dark grey, almost black holographic polish. It is different to Oh, Plesiosaur 2.0. Black may not seem particularly summer appropriate but there is something about holographic colours in direct sunlight which you don't get in winter, well in Northern England!

Topic Tuesday: One colour for rest of the year, top 10 polishes in that colour?

For me I would wear black polish for the rest of the year, looking through my black polish collection I have found 10 that I would alternate between. Primarily it would be a black cream Barry M Black Forest and then the rest holographics.

Nail Polish Battle 2018: Winner!

So the top three were A England's Briarwood, Danglefoot Polish Oh Plesiosaur and A England Moth A Fairy.

A England - Moth A Fairy was the first polish to be eliminated, because it was the lightest of the three and I do prefer darker polishes.

The next two were very difficult to chose between. I do love both of the polishes, but I chose Danglefoot Oh Plesiosaur for second place because of what I have been wearing the most recently.

Which of course means A England - Briarwood is the winner of my nail polish battle 2018. I chose this one because it really has been one I have been wearing a lot of recently. I even wore it as is which is rare for me. It's the perfect autumnal holographic polish.

Nail Polish Battle 2018: Top Three

After eight different polish battles today I have my top three from the top eight.

Barry M - Cream Soda // A England - Peaseblossom Fairy // A England - Anne Boleyn // A England - Briarwood // A England - Moth A Fairy // Danglefoot Polish - Oh Plesiosaur // Born Pretty Store - Taj Mahal // Nails Inc - Rainbow Hooves

Choosing the top three was difficult as I do like all of them. I do seem to have a holographic theme to my top three polishes this year!

I chose A England - Briarwood because it is a beautiful autumnal holographic polish which I have been wearing a lot recently.

Danglefoot Polish - Oh Plesiosaur is a charcoal polish which is super holographic in finish.

A England - Moth A Fairy is another holographic polish. This one is lighter though, very much a grey holographic polish.

Nail Polish Battle 2018: Blue

Avon - Sapphired Up // Nails Inc - The Mane Attraction // Danglefoot Polish - The First Avenger (H) // Danglefoot Polish - Paleon-Holo-Gist // Danglefoot Polish - Magneto // Danglefoot Polish - Oh Plesiosaur

My top three polishes were;

Avon - Sapphired Up is a straight up blue polish, great for nautical themed nail art.

Danglefoot Polish - Magneto, is a magnetic navy polish with holographic particles. When you use the magnet on it the polish changes to a lighter blue shade. This is great for easy galaxy themed nails.

And the winner is Danglefoot Polish - Oh Plesiosaur, which isn't a blue however it ended up in this pile because it is a Danglefoot. I like this one because it is a very holographic dark grey, charcoal polish.
