Nail Polish Battle 2019: Grey and Black

As it is now December it is time for my annual nail polish battle. I find it interesting to look back over the year at the new polishes I have acquired and seeing which ones are my favourites.

Since last years nail polish battle I have 52 new nail polishes which is 11 less than last year. Today I am looking at grey and black ones.

OPI - Rub A Pub Pub | Revolution - Horror Show | A England - Mrs Danvers | A England - Goth | A England - Camelot | China Glaze - Liquid Leather

Choosing my top three was quite easy for this category. Rub a Pub Pub is a blue toned grey which is different to any of the other polishes in my collection. Liquid Leather is a really nice cream black polish, the formula is good. The thin brush type isn't my favourite type.

The winner of this round is going to be Goth by A England. Formula is good, the brush is flat, wide and rounded at cuticle. It is holographic and is dark but is still distinguishable from a standard black polish.

A England - Goth

Now September is here I am leaning towards Autumnal colours and nail art, so these I think will be the last of the summer nails for 2019. I also have now shortened my nails.

Nails: Top 5 Summer Polishes 2019

Summer Solstice was on Friday and so I thought I should get around to sharing my top summer polishes for 2019. If you are interested you can see my summer picks for 2018 here2017 here2015 here and 2014 here.

China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy // Barry M - Banana Split // Leighton Denny - Dash of Lime // Barry M - Pink Grapefruit // KPT - Color Therapy

China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy // Barry M - Banana Split // Leighton Denny - Dash of Lime // Barry M - Pink Grapefruit // KPT - Color Therapy

China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy - A very vibrant peach polish, almost a neon pastel which sounds contradictory!

Barry M - Banana Split - From the 2019 Spring / Summer Gelly release, a good two coater yellow polish.

Leighton Denny - Dash of Lime - This is a bit of an odd choice, but I think it is more wearable than a standard bright green polish. Dash of Lime has a shimmer running through it.

Barry M - Pink Grapefruit - Is another one from the Spring \ Summer Gelly release, somewhere between a neon and a pastel pink shade.

KPT - Color Therapy - I showed this over white above. A neon pink, green glitter with holographic microglitter, also UV reactive as well.

Nails: Top 5 Spring Polishes 2019

A England - Puck A Fairy // OPI - I'll Have A Gin and Tectonic // China Glaze - Werk It Honey! // Nails Inc - Regents Place // OPI - Do You Lilac It?

Today is officially the Spring equinox and so I thought now would be a good time to share my Spring 2019 nail polish picks. I have done this type of post before which you can see 2018 here, 2017 here, 2015 here and 2014 here.

A England - Puck A Fairy // OPI - I'll Have A Gin and Tectonic // China Glaze - Werk It Honey! // Nails Inc - Regents Place // OPI - Do You Lilac It?

You don't need these specific polishes, but these are the ones I reach for more during Spring. Pastel colours are mainly Spring specific, but I seem to also like a holographic pop of colour with Puck a Fairy.

A England - Puck A Fairy - A vibrant holo teal polish, great pop of colour.

OPI - I'll Have A Gin and Tectonic - A peachy nude, nice as a nail art base.

China Glaze - Werk It Honey! - Would it be a spring nail polish selection without a yellow? This one is opaque in two coats which is appreciated for a pale yellow.

Nails Inc - Regents Place - Pastel blue which leans lilac, verging on periwinkle.

OPI - Do You Lilac It? - Straight up lilac cremé polish, this one is ideal as a nail art base.
