Swatch: Barry M - Bubblegum Confetti

These are two colours I certainly wouldn't usually put together, but I think it looks very appropriate for summer. I actually won both of these polishes in a recent Barry M competition. So Bubblegum is a Confetti polish, which basically is a bar glitter. In this one the pieces of glitter are light blue and white in a clear base.

I found with this Confetti topper I had to dab to get a good even coverage. The photo above is two coats of the polish and it was slightly uneven but a topcoat did sort that out. I paired it with Barry M - Mango Gelly. You could build this up to get a full coverage if you wanted to do so.

Stamping Plate: QA52

This stamping plate is pretty much Psy of Gangnam Style and Korean pop sensation. I thought it made for a comical bit of stamping personally.

Base Polish: Barry M - Matt White

The stamping plate itself came with a protective peel off sticker on both sides of the plate.

 

The images stamped relatively well, and even on the deeper images you don't need to use any difficult techniques. As you can see below the images stamped well, the only concern I have is with the whole body Psy, and Psy with arms crossed his face seems to look odd.

Nails: Textured Stamping

I've seen stamping on textured polishes everywhere and I was skeptical. Was it was as easy as stamping on non-textured polishes? Quick answer; yes! Bit of the stamped image stuck up but that was easily remedied with a dabbing with a finger.

What I would say is make sure the stamping polish will show up over the base, I did try with a blue metallic but it didn't work because it would need a topcoat to make it pop but when stamping like this you don't use a topcoat.

Time Period Challenge: 1920's

So I could have gone all Great Gatsby with the nails today, then I was thinking of doing a semi-opaque pinky wash, but that wasn't really interesting enough for me. Ended up going to a half moon which originated in the 1920s, with a rounded french tip, I found my inspiration from here.

Stamping Plate: Bundle Monster 12

This stamping plate is from the first Bundle Monster set, it is backed with branded lining to stop it from being sharp. 

This plate is a little difficult to work with, it took me about six goes to get a good stamp for the designs. The chains or the filigree designs are my favourite. Do persevere though as it is possible to stamp with the plate.

Sunday Stamping: Paisley Dress

Challenge today was to do nails inspired by your new summer dress, now technically I haven't bought any clothing for this summer so we shall have to do it based on a dress which I have seen and liked but not bought.
