Nail Polish Battle 2022: Winner

Today is the final post looking at all the polishes joining my collection in the past 12 months. The following are the top three;

So the first to be cut is Fairy Peas. It is a purple jelly base with pink flakes and circular green glitters. The reason why it finished in third place is because I don't like wearing glitters often as it can be a pain to remove, but it is a beautiful polish.

Choosing between the top two was difficult, in the end Bloody and Bruised came second place. It is a cream thermal changing from plum, blue to lilac. This is my first tri-thermal and you can clearly see all three colour shifts. The only thing that made this second and not first was how it is a cream thermal finish.

Which means Sapphire Shards is the top polish coming in to my collection this year. It is a thermal going from light blue to dark blue with small blue flakies within. This won as it is a thermal but has metallic flakies in which elevates it from the cream finish Bloody and Bruised.

Nail Polish Battle 2022: Top Three

Today I am looking at all eight polishes which won each previous rounds to work out what the top three polishes are which have come in to my collection within the past year.

Fairy Peas, I found the round green glitters quite different from other glitter polishes. Fairy Peas is a purple jelly base with pink flakes and circular green glitters.

Chase is a cream berry shade, it is very basic compared to others in this battle.

Sapphire Shards is a thermal going from light blue to dark blue with small blue flakies within.

Champagne Supernova, is quite autumnal. Brown, orange, red, green multichrome with scattered holo.

Love and Tragedy is a busy polish with lots going on, magnetic, green to purple multichrome with flakies.

Bloody and Bruised is a cream thermal changing from plum, blue to lilac.

Stolen Flame is a blue / purple packed with flakies and micro holo glitters.

Finally Liquid Vinyl, which is a basic black cream polish. It is very opaque, has a paddle shaped brush and has quickly become my go to black polish.

After looking at eight polishes I have whittled them down to Fairy PeasSapphire Shards and Bloody and Bruised;

Nail Polish Battle 2022: Toppers and Glitters

Today's battle is glitters and topper polishes, I have 12 in this category;

Barry M Meringue // Rimmel Mermaid Fin // FUN Amethyst // DRK Splendor // Nails Inc Taken for Granite // Orly Bubbly Bombshell // Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle // Fancy Gloss Candy Cane // Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe // Fancy Gloss Sapphire Shards // Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance // Bright and Polished Black Dots

This category is a catch all for anything slightly different, so it's difficult to pit a shimmer topper against a glitter or thermal. After some thinking the following are my top three;

Amethyst ended up in third place, it is a ghost flakie topper in a amethyst colour. It looks particularly nice over a black.

Candy Cane is a glitter thermal, going from pink to red with red and white glitters. It's very much a Christmas appropriate polish.

The winner of this round is Sapphire Shards, which is another thermal going from light blue to dark blue with small blue flakies within. Rather than specifically Christmas appropriate this can be worn during winter and throughout the year.
