Eradicate Hate Purple Nails - NO H8

Bullying is not funny. It is not cool. It is not right. And more importantly, it is not okay.

Most of us are, thankfully, residents of countries that support tolerance and many of our families have settled in these places simply for that reason. Generations later, it is our responsibility to perpetuate that message of tolerance across our new social platforms, including the internet.

As members of the nail polish blogging community, we all share a love of beauty, color, and lacquer. Other than that, we are remarkably different: from our race to our religion to our hair color...even to our polish application techniques. To marginalize anyone because of those differences is completely unacceptable and today I take a stand against that. I refuse to allow other people's view of "normal" dictate how I behave, believe, and blog.

In solidarity with a multitude of bloggers linked below, my purple manicure represents my proud commitment to the No H8 movement. Today, November 8, I dedicate my post to ending bullying of any kind and to encouraging diversity and imperfection among our colorful community.

There is more to life than messy cuticles. Raise awareness for cancer, for mental illness and male cancers. Do something positive not negative.

Don't bully others, it affects them more than you will ever be able to comprehend.

Review: Miss Sporty - GOTH ME UP Black Top Coat

Firstly a quick skittle set of nails to show the top coat over a range of shades. The concept behind this goth me up top coat is to darken things down and tone down neons and bright polishes.

The polish itself is a thin, almost watery black polish. Difficult to work with and particularly streaky.

Swatch: A England - Saint George (The Legend)

ABC Nail Challenge: I is for Ice Lolly

This week as the title suggests is to come up with some nail art beginning with the letter I. I decided to do 'Ice Lolly'.

Nails: Movember

Movember (from slang word "mo" for moustache and "November") is an annual, month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other male cancer initiatives. The Movember Foundation runs the Movember charity event, housed at Movember.com - Wiki

I have came up with the design below to show my support of Movember. Beige with a bit of sparkle to help the handlebar mustache pop out.

Halloween Nail Challenge: Inspired by a Horror Movie

Let's imagine that I was inspired by Japanese Horror movies, they usually do have a spooky long black hair. Look at The Ring franchise for example. I used vaguely used a Robin Moses tutorial which was based on some Ana Cruz art work.

Sat-ART-Day Challenge: Halloween

Halloween nails, I have already done so many halloween inspired nails this month so thought it might be fun to try something a touch different. Sugar Skull inspired.

Base Polish: Barry M - Matte White

Stargazer - Metallic Lilac

Halloween Nail Challenge: Blood Splatter

Blood splatter / gore was the challenge over on Nail Tart's today. I did hope this would have turned out better, I ended up having to tweek the colours to get the blood looking more blood like rather than jam.

Bloody enough?
Base Polish: Sally Hansen - Lavender Cloud
Stamping Polish: Eyeko - Saucy
Stamping Plates: Bundle Monster 202 + 301

I also used some fake blood

Swatch: No.7 - Violetta

This is as close to colour accurate I could get, it is a deep violet shade rather than leaning towards blue. As with most of the No.7 polishes this is a very pigmented polish and as such is good for stamping with. The brush is nice and flat and wide, the bottles have changed recently and as such the brushes may have changed.

ABC Nail Challenge: G is for Ghoulish

G is for Ghoulish, so I may be pushing it a little with the Ghoulish theme here but I just had to share these nails. This is part of the ABC Nail Challenge being done over at Llama Nails. Originally they were to be entered in a competition but I must not have done enough stamping for that. Anyhow, on to the nails...

Anyone remember these?

Meg and Mog was originally a set of children's books, but apparently later on it was turned into a cartoon. I must be a bit old to have known about the cartoon but I do remember the books.
